Speaking & Workshops
Jenna enjoys giving presentations on everything from her travels to endangered fringe landscapes to creative writing pedagogy and small-scale farming. In the past five years, she has spoken at the University of Alberta, MacEwan University, and Humber College in Canada; Bridgewater College and the Palo Alto Arts Centre in the United States; Imperial College London and the International Anthony Burgess Foundation in the UK; and the Universidad de La Laguna in Tenerife, among others. Her most unique presentation took place aboard a masted sailing ship off the coast of Svalbard, Norway in June 2014.
As a researcher and writer, Jenna has recently returned from residencies in Ireland and the Arctic Circle. Her new book of essays launched across Canada through the fall and winter of 2015-16, and she will be appearing as a guest poet and academic in Kingston, Toronto, London (UK) and Turin (Italy) this coming year.
Jenna’s experience with educators ranges from workshops for elementary students to sessions with teachers, administrators, university researchers, and scientists. She fundamentally believes in the necessity of combining creative and critical practice, and in employing art as a means for affecting social change.
