Speaking & Workshops
Jenna enjoys giving presentations on everything from her travels to endangered fringe landscapes, to creative writing pedagogy and small-scale farming. In recent years, she has spoken at the University of Alberta, MacEwan University, Lethbridge University, and Queen’s University in Canada; Bridgewater College and the Palo Alto Arts Centre in the United States; Imperial College London and the International Anthony Burgess Foundation in the UK; and the Universidad de La Laguna in Tenerife, among many others. Her most unique presentation took place aboard a masted sailing ship off the coast of Svalbard, Norway.
Jenna’s speaking experience ranges from workshops for school students at all grade levels to sessions with teachers, administrators, university researchers, and scientists. As a teacher herself, she fundamentally believes in the necessity of combining creative and critical practice, and in employing art as a means for affecting social change.
